| 10th Street - Avalon’s north end beach fill project began on Thursday, April 16th, following a nor’easter that impacted the southern New Jersey coastline April 14th-15th. Sand is being trucked into Avalon’s north end to supplement a beach fill that took place in June, 2008. This project is courtesy of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and should be completed in the middle of June. |
New boardwalk - Pictured is a brand new section of the Avalon boardwalk. A big section of boardwalk was rebuilt by the Avalon Department of Public Works during the Winter/Early Spring, 2009, and sits just north of the Avalon Community Hall. The new section of boardwalk also includes new ramps and steps.
